![]() If you don't plan on installing anything other than the windows drivers, you'll be fine.If you install the software that comes with the card (Liveware, as it were) you have the option of deselecting the DOS drivers. By themselves, there's no problem with these either.However, if they're both installed, then some older DOS proggies just won't know which settings to use for the SB16 emulation, and it won't work much of the time either.When you install the windows SB Live! drivers only, it only installs the drivers for windows audio, and the windows SB16 emu drivers. These are drivers that load through the autoexec.bat/config.sys (like old school sound card drivers). ![]() This works fine by itself, and hasn't given me any trouble on any system I've used a Live! card in.The other one are drivers for DOS. Well, first off, when you install the software, it by default installs two sets of emulation drivers.One set is the one that is used in windows.
